Criminal Litigation
Fearless trial defence from FIR to verdict — before Sessions Courts and the High Court.
Every Accused Deserves a Defence
A criminal accusation threatens the one thing no civil dispute can touch: liberty itself. The system presumes every accused person innocent — but a presumption on paper is worth little without a prepared defence to give it force. That is the work of criminal litigation.
A criminal case moves through distinct stages, and each stage has its own battles. The FIR can be challenged where it is false or legally defective. Bail protects liberty while the case proceeds. The trial turns on evidence — what the prosecution proves, what its witnesses survive, and what the defence establishes. And a verdict, whether acquittal or conviction, is rarely the final word: appeals and revisions follow.
Our approach begins with reading the prosecution’s case before it reads us. We study the FIR, the statements, the recovery memos and the evidence as a whole — looking for delay, contradiction, motive and illegally obtained material. A prosecution case is a chain; our job is to test every link.
Serious charges need senior hands. Criminal defence at Prestige Law Firm is led by the principal personally — in the trial court where cases are won daily, and before the High Court where the stakes demand it.
What Our Criminal Practice Covers
Defence at every stage, in every forum.
FIR Quashment Petitions
High Court petitions against FIRs that are false, mala fide, or disclose no criminal offence — assessed honestly before filing.
Trial Defence
Full defence before the Sessions Courts, from framing of charge to final arguments — present at every hearing that matters.
Cross-Examination & Evidence Strategy
The prosecution’s case tested witness by witness, contradiction by contradiction, until only what is actually proved remains.
Appeals & Revisions
Convictions and adverse orders challenged before the High Court, within limitation, on grounds that are argued — not assumed.
Defence in Serious Offences
Grave charges demand grave preparation. We bring the same intensity to every serious offence we defend.
Bail Coordination
Bail strategy integrated with the trial defence from the first day — liberty and case strategy as a single plan.
How an Engagement Works
Case Reading
The FIR, the statements, the evidence — all of it, read carefully before anything is argued.
Strategy
Bail position secured and trial plan fixed: what we attack, what we prove, and what we concede nothing on.
Trial
Defence at every single hearing — cross-examination, objections and argument, without a wasted date.
Verdict & Beyond
An acquittal defended on the record; a conviction appealed to the High Court without delay.
Built for the Accused and Their Families
Criminal cases are fought by the accused — but carried by families. We serve both:
- Persons facing criminal charges at any stage — from FIR to trial to appeal.
- Families arranging a defence for a relative in custody, who need honest answers fast.
- Persons falsely implicated, seeking quashment of a baseless FIR.
- Convicts seeking appeal against conviction or sentence, where limitation periods are already running.
In criminal law, the file is the battlefield. We read every page of it — because the contradiction that wins the case is usually hiding in one.
Trial-Court Temperament, High Court Reach
Criminal defence is won in cross-examination and saved on appeal — we do both.
Trial-court craft
Evidence tested daily in the courtroom, not theoretically in the office. We know how trials actually move.
High Court appellate strength
Convictions and adverse orders challenged skilfully before the High Court, within time.
Bail integrated with defence
Liberty secured early, trial strategy built around it — one plan, not two.
An FIR Has Been Registered?
Time matters in criminal cases. Call now — day or night — and we will take it from there.
Common Questions on Criminal Defence
What should I do right after an FIR is registered against me?
First, secure your position on bail — pre-arrest where the law permits. Preserve any evidence in your favour, make no statements to anyone without counsel, and call us immediately. The first hours shape everything that follows.
Can an FIR be quashed?
Yes — the High Court can quash criminal proceedings in appropriate cases: where the FIR is false, mala fide, or discloses no criminal offence on its face. We assess your FIR honestly and tell you whether quashment is viable before you spend on it.
How long does a criminal trial take?
It varies with the court, the number of witnesses and the complexity of the charge. We press for progress at every hearing and oppose unnecessary delay — but no honest lawyer can promise a date of verdict.
What if the case against me is completely false?
False implication is more common than most people believe. The defence is built on contradiction, motive and gaps in the prosecution’s evidence — tested in cross-examination and pressed in argument.
Can a conviction be appealed?
Yes — to the High Court. But strict limitation periods apply, and delay can close the door permanently. If you have been convicted, act immediately.
Will my identity stay private?
We handle every matter with discretion and minimise unnecessary exposure. That said, court proceedings are public by nature — we will tell you plainly what privacy the law does and does not allow.
